Kokomo is a German instrumental rock band based in Duisburg, Germany. After doing ‘Matterhorn Bob and the Black Fair’ all by themselves, they still follow the diy philosophy with their latest album ‘If Wolves’ by recording everything themselves. Of course it is not easy and pretty expensive to get music out there in a good quality and package. Therefore they decided to join dunk!records as the very first band of the new label. They proved their amazing song writing qualities and energetic live performance at dunk!festival2010 and confirmed that again at dunk!festival2011. Check this album and be carried away into a world of beautiful rifs, massive climaxes and floating outros.

LABIRINTO :: Instrumental, experimental, post rock

Formed in mid-2003, by friends who sought to materialize their various musical and personal influences through instrumental composition, Labirinto seeks to create textures and environments full of imagery, as in a movie soundtrack, in which the scenes are on account of the listener’s imagination.

The dedication and the diligence of Labirinto’s first album drew attention of the specialized media, that acclaimed Anatema as one of the best 2010 releases and as a fundamental piece of the current effervescent post-rock worldwide scene. The album counted with Bob Weston (Shellac, Mission of Burma) and Greg Norman (partner of Steve Albini at the Electrical Audio Studio) as part of the technical team.

The good reception to the complex and sophisticated sonority of Labirinto’s music earned the band its first tour outside the country, in June 2011, across cities in the United States and Canada, including the North by Northeast festival (NXNE). After that Labirinto toured for the second time around the US and Canada invited by the Canadian Music Festival and Heart of Texas Rockfest, in early 2012. For 2013, the band prepares more good news: tours, new releases and much more.

Labirinto’s music is full of imagery, a multiple and sensorial experiment that gains colors insofar as the evolution of the instruments suggests unexpected trips. Be welcome to the Labirynth!

Recorded over the course of a year and a half – and subsequently mixed by long term collaborator Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna) – the new album from Late Night Venture continues and expands the cosmic soundscape, which the band has refined since releasing their debut album in 2006.

Located in the neverland between shoegaze-influenced, melodic songwriting and cosmic postrock, ”Pioneers of space- flight” explores themes of isolation, hope and celestial beauty over 10 songs: From the wall-of-sound prologue of the majestic ”Kaleidoscopes”, by way of the hypermelodic ”Birmingham” (issued last year on 7 inch vinyl) and the appealing and compact ”Houses” towards a fitting culmination with ”Carisma” – a seven minute psycedelic epilog.

In order to capture the organic quality of their music, Late Night Venture chose to record all tracks live in the studio rather than the conventional layer-by-layer method. This way – and through subsequent treatments by Magnus Lindberg and the band – a life-like, musical narrative could be created using guitars, synth, voices, pianos and drums as pen and paper.

Loathus (myspace) were a Belgian band that played the Screamo/Post-Hardcore splendor. apocalyptic and melodramatic down tempo Hardcore, like City Of Caterpillar or Funeral Diner. not the Envy post-rock, but the Mihai Edrisch epic screamo style. with only 3 members, they had dual-vocal elements, very diverse drum patterns and the guitar and bass sound very asymmetric, individually. the sum of these elements gave the band a very ‘full’ sound and would give today’s bands in the broad spectrum of this style quite the run for their their money. 2 members went on to form a (modern) Post-Punk style band OLD WOUNDS (myspace)
